Digital craft

The design file is only the beginning

Each object starts as a digital model, but real-world testing decides whether it works. We review balance, surface, component fit and the way light or objects interact with the form.

The making process

Four connected stages

Every stage can send a design back for refinement. That feedback loop is part of the process.

  1. Concept and modelling

    The form is developed around a clear use, proportion and production method.

  2. Prototype and test

    Test pieces help assess assembly, stability, surface and everyday interaction.

  3. Layer-by-layer production

    Approved files are produced in controlled batches with settings suited to the object.

  4. Finish and inspect

    Components are prepared, assembled where needed and checked before collection or dispatch.

Materials, clearly stated

Specific information instead of broad claims

Many LUNQO pieces use PLA-based filament, which can be made from renewable feedstocks. It remains a plastic material and normally requires industrial conditions for composting. Other components and materials vary by product, so the current product specification is the source of truth.

Quality control

Checked as an object, not just a print

Explain the most important points in a format that is easy to scan.

Surface and form

Visible surfaces and the intended geometry are reviewed against the product standard.

Fit and assembly

Connections and components are checked where the product requires assembly.

Intended function

Relevant stability, handling and product-specific details are reviewed before fulfilment.

Final preparation

The finished piece is cleaned, protected and prepared for pickup or dispatch.

A measured approach

Small-batch production reduces overproduction, but it is not waste-free

Producing in smaller batches can limit unsold inventory and lets us refine files before wider production. Failed prints, supports, test pieces, energy use and packaging still have an impact. We focus on practical improvements and avoid absolute environmental claims.
